Alibaba Group announced the launch of a new AI-based system, Wukong. The new IA platform is designed to automate complex enterprise workflows by enabling multiple AI agents to work together within the same organization. At present, Wukong is available only for invitation-based beta testing.
How Wukong Fits into Enterprise Workflows
The AI platform Wukong is a standalone desktop application directly integrated into DingTalk, Alibaba’s enterprise collaboration platform. Therefore, Wukong can perform functions such as document creation/edition, generating new spreadsheets, meeting transcriptions, and researching all from a single interface. In addition, Wukong allows users to connect to their DingTalk accounts in a secure manner, as well as with enterprise applications.
The launch of Wukong follows Alibaba’s announcement of its reorganization around its new Alibaba Token Hub (ATH) business unit, signaling that the entire company is committed to developing enterprise AI agents. As for this, the new AI platform represents the flagship product in the new Wukong Business Unit under ATH.

Strategic Context and Competition
Competition has increased in the Chinese AI agent market, which now has many open-source solutions such as OpenClaw. Other companies providing agent solutions are ByteDance, Tencent, and start-up Zhipu. CEO of Alibaba, Eddie Wu, thinks that we are “at the eve of the AGI explosion,” with Alibaba trying to position itself as a leader in the agent-driven future.
