Prediction Markets: Gate Integrates Polymarket for Competing with CEXs

Crypto exchange Gate.io has added prediction markets to its platform, thanks to the integration of Polymarket. Now users will have an opportunity to trade predictions on global events (“Yes/No”) directly in stablecoin from their Gate account.

What the Integration Means for Traders

For traders, this integration represents an important development because prediction markets, a historically decentralized model represented by Polymarket and Kalshi, are now part of the centralized exchange (CEX) ecosystem. Users will be able to speculate on sports and crypto prices, as well as macroeconomic events, using their existing trading account for both spot and futures/derivative trades. The integration will provide instantaneous execution of trades and complete settlement procedures, with no need for any wallets or bridges.

Why This Matters

Gate.io integrates prediction markets into its platform that taps into an exponentially growing industry. Forecasting markets in Polymarket and Kalshi saw USD 18 billion of combined volume in February 2026 (9x growth since August 2025). Gate’s users will not only benefit from access to that rapidly growing market but also from exponential expansion in the coming years. But it could also compete against MEXC, which just launched its prediction market earlier this month and has made it a zero-fee product, as well as Coinbase and Hyperliquid.

Final Take

The integration by Gate with Polymarket is indicative of a much larger trend; centralized exchanges are 'absorbing' decentralized prediction market capabilities in order to leverage their existing user base for engagement (in times of high volatility) across a variety of global events. Moreover, the public beta is currently available for traders, providing new ways to create returns using predictions by trading on their exchange accounts directly.
