1inch unveiled its plan to kick off a new U.S. DeFi Education Campaign, “1inch Forward.” It will coincide with the DC Blockchain Summit and intends to connect “the overwhelming interest in crypto-related careers among students” with the lack of specific programs/classes offered by most major business and law schools concerning Blockchain technology.
Why 1inch is Launching the Campaign
The 1inch team conducted research revealing the rapid increase in inquiries surrounding jobs that incorporate Blockchain technology. For example, the total searches on Google for “Blockchain Jobs” have surged by an astounding 84% year-over-year (YoY). Total searches for “Crypto Jobs” jumped a whopping 133%, with a cumulative total of 46.9 million related to cryptographic technology. The increase in searches specifically about “DeFi Developer Jobs” rose an incredible 269% jump from 66,700 to 246,000. Searches specifically asking about where/how to “learn blockchain skills” also rose substantially at 44%.

The growth of Blockchain-centric courses/programs at the nation’s top universities has focused primarily on Blockchain theory as well as entry-level crypto knowledge. For instance, the rapid growth of Blockchain-based businesses globally requires real-world applications, including tokenization and cross-border payments.
What the Campaign Entails
There’s a three-part initiative for 1inch’s U.S. DeFi Educational Campaign:
- The first is an open letter encouraging college business/law schools to include digital assets in their curricula, including guest lectures, case studies, and internship opportunities from the industry.
- The second element will be a campus tour in 2026 to serve at the following institutions: University of Pennsylvania – March 27; Yale – April 10; Cornell Tech – April 24; Stanford – June; Indiana University; and Harvard. This event will have panels, pitch demonstration sessions, mentoring, and recruitment directly into the DeFi candidate pool.
- Thirdly, students will have a dedicated channel for curriculum vitae (CV) review and career advice related to Decentralized Finance (DeFi) careers.
To this point, the authors of the letter caution that without updating academic programs, graduates will lack essential competencies and the broader industry may face preventable governance and compliance problems. They also stress that they are ready to partner with schools by helping develop courses, supporting research, hosting events, and creating opportunities for students.
